Back to M.A.C ( Take 1) | Beauty

Recently I spring cleaned my makeup collection and realised I had accumulated quite a few Mac products. A few of them were empties that I was saving for an empties video, a couple I had hit pan on and the other items were Products that had dried up (Paint Pot ) & a cream blush I've had for a while but never liked enough to use it regularly.

So before I get started I thought I'd explain exactly what "Back to Mac" is just incase you aren't familiar with the Back to M.A.C programme. If you return 6 used products back to a Mac store/Counter (I believe they do it online too) you get to exchange your finished goods for a new Mac lipstick of your choice. Brilliant I know! I remembered hearing about Back to Mac a while ago but up until recently I thought it was only a thing that was done in the US.  I asked on Twitter if it worked in the Uk and found out it did so i took a trip down to the M.A.C counter (selfridges) in Marble Arch; London.

Here are the Items I traded in; A collection of Mineralize Powders, Cream to powder foundations, My favourite Pro-longwear Concelaer, Cream blush, Paint pot in indian wood,Brush Cleanser & Studio Fix +

And here are the Two lipsticks I chose;
 Ruby woo & Media

After minutes of swatching and comparing, I opted for Ruby Woo & Media. I also loved the look of Mocha (Nudey brown) But I decided to go all out and stay away from neutral tones as I usually do.
(I will however be going back for Mocha! Lol! =P)

I have no idea why I've hesitated to buy Ruby Woo for so long! Its a vibrant shade of red and the best part is that it has a gorgeous Matte Finish. Its one of those shades I thought would never suit me but it honestly would suit anybody. Its beautiful!

Media is a Lipstick that I've seen Jen from Clothes Encounters wear a lot and I've always loved the dark gothic edge it can give to a look/ outfit simply by adding this lipstick. A great choice for the colder months.

I'll most likely do a mini blogpost on each of the lipsticks with more detail and swatches in the near future!

Have you 'Back to Mac'd' Before? Which are your must have Mac lipsticks?

Kabuki Makeup Brushes by Essencia Beauty| Review

Hello Everyone!

Today's post is all about the new set of
 makeup brushes I've been using recently by Essencia Beauty.
I love kabuki brushes so when I heard about this set I couldn't wait to try it!

The set is designed to achieve flawless make up application. It has dense synthetic fibres which is both genius & awesome because it means that the brush doesn't absorbed a lot of makeup and its easy to wash. (They wash really well and the bristles don't clump) I like that you get the density of a kabuki brush but with the comfortability of a of a longer handle. Also it gets a thumbs up from me because its animal cruelty- free! I think its very unique to find face brushes in the Kabuki style, especially at such an affordable price. I love the sleek and classic design plus the fibres are super soft. There are so many things I love about these brushes so I'm just going to dive in!
